Tank Bags are durable, comfortable, & lightweight saddle bags
We build our crossover saddle bags as if I was going to travel another 5000 miles with just one horse.
A few years ago, I spent 3 wonderful years traveling with Roxy across 4 countries.
Countless hours on her back, and walking beside her, breathtaking views in all weather conditions.
I had way too much time to think about all my tack and saddle set up.
Altogether too many thoughts about how I could improve on my kit and make the ultimate configuration of comfort, durability and light weight.
Tank Bags was born from those moments.
So I thought I’d share with you a little about our build philosophy.

We know we could build bags with lots of bells and whistles and extra frilly attachments, but we probably won’t.
You’ll notice we use cotton duck canvas which is a proven durable material. As for synthetics we are currently using a lightweight material called Sunbrella, popular in the marine industry and for outdoor furniture. It has a softer feel than cordura, and can be used either side.
Our tie outs and straps are mil spec tubular webbing and ultra abrasion resistant HMPE rope.
The fasteners are bit snaps, no plastic in our set up.
Tank Bags saddle bags are dual purpose, so they can be used on your horse, or for you personally.

Our upcoming saddle top bags are intended to stay on the saddle year round.
The side bags can be attached for longer adventures and removed from each side when not needed.
They are attached to the saddle via thin hmpe rope, tubular webbing and/ or bit snaps.
Tank Bags transform into work and play bags for humans. The crossover features mean your can use your Tank Bags on your own back, or on your favorite horse.
